My control center. two computers (Windows- day job, and Apple- personal), one large monitor (they both plug into), three notebooks (brainstorming, goals, planner), two tablets (an ancient Samsung I rebuilt as a PDF reader, and an iPad), the diffuser, water bottle, and vision board are not optional, the mic is for podcasting, the bosu is because I’m short, the headphones for when I need to be in the zone. The only things missing are the insulated tea mug, the two dogs!
Hi everyone,
If you’ve been following my stories for a while, you know me as the person who writes Smart | Sexy | Fun Romance, always filled with found families, protective heroes, and food. I get serious about the food.
But as 2025 draws to a close, I’ve realized something: The world of publishing is changing, and I want to change with it. For the past year, I’ve been experimenting with where my books live. I’ve realized that I don’t just want to “sell books” on a massive retailer site where my work is just a thumbnail in a sea of millions. I want to build a destination. I want to create an emotional experience that doesn’t end when you turn the last page.
What This Space Is (And Why You Might Be Here)
This Substack is going to be the “Director’s Commentary” of my writing life. Moving forward, I’m taking a “Direct-First” approach. This means:
Early Access: Subscribers here will get first looks (and first dibs) on my work before it hits the big retailers.
The “Vault” Experience: I’ve been working on my website to make it more of a world than just a store. I share passwords to “The Vault,” in my newsletters. There you’ll find bonus chapters, novellas, character letters, and codices, you won’t find anywhere else.
A New Adventure: I am currently wrapping up the final book in my Paranormal The Fated Mates series. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to these characters, but I need something lighter, maybe a little goofy even, but they’ve paved the way for something new. Don’t worry, all the good tropes will show up and there will still be big stakes (and steaks— I might need lunch?)
Where to Find What
I’m all about keeping things simple (more time for writing—and cooking!). You might notice a newsletter sign-up on my main website, too. To keep your inbox from overflowing, think of it this way: This Substack will be our community hub. This is where we talk, where the podcast lives, and where I share the “messy middle” of my process. My website and Payhip store are the Boutique and the Vault—the place you go to buy the finished books and use your “Vault” passwords. If you are subscribed here, you are already a “Giroux Girl” and part of the inner circle. You’ll get the news, the links, and the early-access alerts first, so there’s no need to sign up for multiple lists!
From Earth to the Stars
I have a confession: I’m heading into deep space. My next series is Sci-Fi Romance. I know, I know—it sounds like a big leap from Shifters. But here’s the secret: the things we love about Paranormal Romance—the fated connections, the high stakes, the “us against the world” intensity—are exactly what you’ll find in my Sci-Fi worlds.
Instead of magic, we have technology. Instead of old-growth forests, we have alien landscapes. But the love? That stays exactly the same. And I already know what foods my heroines are going to introduce, and the poor alien males are going to fight over.
Let’s Build This Together
I’m also launching a podcast and a YouTube channel where I’ll be documenting the “messy middle” of building this new genre. I want to show you the research, the mood boards, and the hibiscus tea-fueled late nights. Hey, I’m a writer allergic to caffeine— I know, weird, right?
I’m not just looking for customers; I’m looking for a crew.
If you’re here for the romance, the tropes, and the emotional rollercoaster, I promise you’re in the right place. Thank you for being part of this “fresh start.” I’ll be posting new content weekly on Mondays, unless I’m lucky enough to get abducted by hot aliens.
What’s one trope you’ll follow me into any genre for? (For me, it’s always “only one bed,” even if that bed is on a spaceship!) Let me know in the comments.
Get ready to blast off!
Lisette
